Daily Wear Tips for Attaching Hair Systems

If you take off your hair attachment after few days or every day, the following tips are for you.

  • Clean your scalp properly prior to attaching hair system every time.
  • White clear liner tape should be used on polyurethane surfaces. For best results, use fresh tape every time.
  • If you do not wish to replace the tape every time, you may use liquid hairpiece adhesive to re-activate it before placing the system on your scalp.

Wearing a lace front or full lace hair units

Always let the toupee tape to remain attached to the hair unit instead of your scalp while taking the system off.

  • It isn’t recommended to use while clear liner tape for lace surfaces. Due to mesh material, the surface for sticking tape isn’t enough and thus the white tape won’t make a durable bond.
  • Instead of using white clear liner tape, you must use no messy residue, blue tape for attaching lace hair units. These hairpiece adhesives offer more tack as compared to the white, the reason behind using them with lace material is for proper removal such that they do not tear.
  • While removing the lace system, peel the back part first and then the front side with the help of your thumbnail under the unit tape and your index finger on the unit top.
  • While removing the lace hair unit for cleaning purposes, it is highly recommended to dab and spray adhesive remover down from the hair top prior to removal. This enables releasing the hairpiece tape from the lace material. But, if you do not plan to clean the system then do not try this.
  • For reactivating the toupee tape, apply very thin layer of liquid adhesive on the tape prior to reattaching your system. It is recommended to remove the tape from your hair unit for cleaning purposes every 1 to 2 weeks.
  • Dust particles stick to the adhesive on the front edge of lace systems and become visible after some time. After taking a shower, it is the best time for cleaning this part as the adhesive is pliable. Spray some Just Rite positioning spray on a tissue. Grip your hair unit back with one hand and wipe the lace edges using that tissue with the help of other hand. This tip will help you in keeping your lace front edge visible all the time.

Tips for Extended Wear Hair Unit Attachment

If the hair system you wear does not have to be taken off for at least a week, then use the following tips for long lasting, stronger hair replacement bonding. However, if you take off your hair system twice or thrice a week then you must see the daily wear attachment tips.

  • Every time prior to attaching your hair unit, clean and prepare your scalp with 99% alcohol and apply scalp protector.
  • If you apply liquid adhesives, Ultra Hold bonding strips, or blue liner hairpiece tape, then you must apply red tape to the polyurethane surfaces as an undercoat for cleaning up easily.
  • After working out or taking a shower, the bond may appear weak a little. This isn’t something unexpected as the bond becomes softened due to the moisture or extra heat. Do not worry, your hair system is still attached securely, all you have to do is NOT to touch the hairpiece as when your body will cool down the bond hardens again.

Air dust particles sticks to the toupee adhesive on the front edges of the lace hair units and become visible with the passing time. Right after you take a shower, you must clean the area as this is the best time to clean because the adhesive is pliable. Spray some Just Rite positioning spray on a folded tissue. Grip your hair unit back with one hand and wipe the lace edges using that tissue with the help of other hand. This tip will help you in keeping your lace front edge visible all the time.
